Construction

Apparently I have a lot of pent up road rage, because this will be my third post in a week talking about dumb things having to do with vehicles slash roads. But for real, someone brought this up to me today and I was like, "No. This is unacceptable. WHY DOES EVERYONE SUCK?"

The first rule of road work is don't talk about road work. No I'm just kidding. The real first rule is: Don't do it at shitty times. Apparently people have decided that now is an opportune time to begin construction work on I-85 North. Two days before Easter weekend. And that interstate is the only way to get anywhere north slash east of Auburn. Unless you want to spend 40 years traveling on back roads. NO ONE WANTS TO DO THAT. So, don't be dumb. Could you seriously not wait five days? Then all the Easter traffic would have been gone. But, no, piss off all the southern college students who live north of their schools. That is what we call a good idea. 'Cept not.

The second rule of road work is don't talk about road work. Kidding again. The second rule is: DON'T DO IT AT SHITTY TIMES. At my high school in good ole Knoxville, TN, they decided to do construction that blocked off one of two (TWO) exit roads off of our senior lot during my senior year to build condominiums on one of the roads that led up to the school. There were 500 something kids in my senior class. They were supposed to start this road work in the summer and have it done by the time that school started. But they couldn't get off their lazy asses and just DO IT, and when they finally did, it took all year. So the 500 senior cars had to try to get out through one measly exit for all nine months of the dang school year. Cool. Also, they did not end up building the condominiums. They built a wall and then realized that the economy was bad and no one would buy them.

The third rule of road work is: Get it done on time. They closed off Duncan at AU for what was supposed to be a few weeks at the beginning of school. Duncan leads to one of two exits/entrances from the parking deck. The construction should have been done by mid January. Then it was supposed to be done by the end of January. Then it was supposed to be mid February. When did it get done? END OF FEBRUARY. Dammit. Do this shit during the summer, when campus is (relatively) empty and it won't affect everyone and cause anger to boil in the souls of the people that pay thousands of dollars in tuition to have access to things like parking decks.

I think this will be the end of this little road rage series....we will see. I tend to get angry about road-related things. Obviously.
